Cave expedition Tlemcen 2011 (Algeria)

Exploring Tafna cave ( Ghar Boumaaza) et Kaf El Kaoues cave

After a first contact, during the expedition “ Anu Boussouil 2010”, with our friends Algerian cavers, and responding the invitation of the caving and Mountain  Activities Association of Bejaia, the caving club of Zaghouan participated from September 29 to October 3 in exploration of two mythic caves in western Algeria more precisely in the wilaya of Tlemcen.

First Tunisian-Algerian expedition

Aware of the important potentialities that has caving in Algeria, caving club of Zaghouan crossed the border and did a little jump to visit our neighbours country carrying the first Tunisian-Algerian caving expedition of the history.

Jbel Essarj - Tunisia

The Sarj has attracted the interest of Tunisian and foreign cavers since the 70’s thanks to its geological characteristics and the mine gallery which allow to discover the famous cave of "Mine" , one of the jewels of caving in Tunisia. A jewel that Caving Club Zaghouan wanted to give it more value by looking for another entrance to circumvent the old mine gallery.
